France's unemployment is at its highest since 1999, at 10.6%. But wait! I thought France was supposed to be one of the stronger European Union powers, right after Germany. How problematic must the situation in Europe be if France is experiencing the same woes as that of neighbor Spain and Greece, with the only difference being degree?
It is clear that there is a need to revamp existing policy. François Hollande was a lousy choice as president, and with people electing in the same vein, it is unlikely we will be seeing any change for the better.
And it isn't like the problem is limited to France, when it comes to superpowers. Even Germany is languishing as well, starting to show its cracks, amidst its 'savior' status in the EU. The problems are just going to get worse, regardless of the status of Germany and France in the eyes of the public worldwide. The EU crisis, like that in the US, will not be contained, least of all by two countries that are not as strong as people think.
